Terms and Conditions
Last updated: January 2024
Welcome to Reservation Desk! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and services. By accessing our website or booking any Australian travel experience through us, you agree to be bound by these terms. We are a licensed Australian travel agency (ABN: 72690229013, ACN: 690229013) specializing in authentic Australian travel experiences.
1. Booking Terms
1.1 Booking Agreement
When you book through Reservation Desk, you enter into a contract with us and the relevant Australian service providers (accommodation, tours, transport, etc.). You agree to abide by their terms and conditions, which may vary by provider.
1.2 Pricing and Payments
All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Prices are subject to change due to factors beyond our control, including fuel surcharges, park entry fees, currency fluctuations, or seasonal adjustments. A deposit is typically required to secure your booking, with the balance due according to the provider's payment schedule.
2. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellation policies vary depending on the service provider, season, and type of booking. General guidelines are:
- 60+ days before travel: Full refund (minus any non-refundable deposits)
- 59-30 days: 75% refund of booking cost
- 29-15 days: 50% refund of booking cost
- 14-7 days: 25% refund of booking cost
- 6 days or less: No refund (unless covered by travel insurance)
Note: Some remote experiences (Uluru, Kakadu, Ningaloo Reef) may have stricter policies due to limited capacity. Peak season (Dec-Jan, Easter, school holidays) may also have different cancellation terms.
3. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance for all Australian travel. Travel insurance can protect you against unforeseen circumstances including trip cancellations, medical emergencies, lost luggage, and other unexpected events. We offer travel insurance through licensed Australian providers, but you're free to obtain coverage elsewhere.
4. Responsibilities
4.1 Our Responsibilities
We will use reasonable skill and care in arranging your Australian travel experience. We act as an agent for the service providers and are not responsible for their acts or omissions. We will assist you in resolving any issues that arise with your bookings.
4.2 Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring you have all necessary travel documents, including valid identification for domestic flights. You must comply with all provider rules and regulations, including safety guidelines for activities. You should be aware of and respect Aboriginal cultural protocols at sacred sites.
5. Special Considerations for Australian Travel
- National Park Passes: Many destinations require entry permits or park passes, which we can arrange on your behalf.
- Aboriginal Cultural Sites: Some locations require advance permission or have restricted access to protect cultural significance.
- Remote Area Travel: Travel to remote areas (Outback, Northern Territory, etc.) requires additional preparation and may have limited communication services.
- Wildlife Safety: You must follow all guidelines for interacting with Australian wildlife to ensure your safety and the animals' wellbeing.
- Weather Conditions: Australia's diverse climate can affect travel plans. Bushfires, floods, or extreme heat may necessitate itinerary changes.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, Reservation Desk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service.
7. Privacy
Your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles. We collect information necessary to book and manage your travel arrangements, and we only share it with Australian service providers essential to delivering your experience. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
